Twice a year, England Taekwon-Do Association hosts a seminar and black belt grading for it's members. These seminars and gradings are always held on the Saturday of the last full weekend of March and September. The seminar is also open to other Taekwon-Do Associations who are affiliated to the International Taekwon-Do Association (ITF).
At these gradings, 1st kups are graded by a three person panel consisting of seniors in rank from 6th degrees to 4th degrees. First degrees and second degrees are graded by at least one master (usually two). Third degrees to fifth degrees are graded by Grand Master Ellis IX.
While these gradings are taking place, a seminar is run at the same time. The seminar is usually divided by rank of the students and a number of senior instructors would swap between the groups teaching sparring, patterns step sparring etc. Each instructor specialises in a particular field (sparring, self defense, patterns etc).
The ETA September seminar and grading will be taking place on Saturday 24th March 2018.
The venue will be Alexander Sports Hall, Sidney Road, Bedford, MK40 2BQ.
